awarded to Thien Tat

Congratulations to Thien Tat who was awarded the H.
Peter Guertin Scholarship at the California State University,
Fullerton Entrepreneurship Awards ceremony on May 9,
2008. Thien is a junior with a major in Operations Management
and has earned a GPA over 3.00.

This scholarship is funded by the Orange County Chapter
of the APICS - The Association for Operations Management
to recognize scholastic achievement. The University
Management Special Projects Committee selects the recipient.

MRP (MATERIAL REQUIREMENTS PLANNING) - April 19,
2008
Material requirements planning is a set of techniques
that uses item master data, bills of material, on-hand
and on-order inventory records, and the master production
schedule to calculate the time phased requirements for
inventory items. MRP is the execution of higher level
plans approved by the senior management team.

CPIM Classes
"Master Planning of Resources" started March
18th for nine consecutive Tuesday nights. This course covers
the planning functions that lead up to work order release.
Topics include demand management, the sales and operations
planning process, and master scheduling. This class is designed
to be taken after the Basics of Supply Chain course, but a
person with an operations background and a few years' experience
