Duties & Responsibilities: Price reduction & Cost saving: Lead corporate wide “materials cost reduction” program. Achieve targeted cost reduction by evaluating optimal sourcing, negotiating pricing, updating contracts & implementing value engineering efforts with local as well as global suppliers. Encourage supplier’s participation as well as cross functional team’s involvement on achieving cost reduction by implementing value engineering on materials/services. Develop and maintain system (or tools) to track cost saving. International Sourcing: Strategically support international sourcing initiatives with exploration of relevant global sourcing markets for the assigned commodities. Identification and evaluation of existing and potential global suppliers as well as the establishment and maintenance of supplier relations. Work aggressively on negotiation of current global sourcing contracts. Maintain an internal control system that includes international trade compliance procedures. Purchasing team support: Work closely with purchasing manager & provide direction and leadership to a team of professional purchasing individuals for maintaining schedules, priorities and customers. Contracts: Establish and maintain AMF contracts database, create key commodity contract plans, negotiate & manage key supplier contracts to ensure that the required legal terms, conditions and cost/service components are in place to meet company requirements. NPI: Participate in earlier stage of NPI program to create strategic sourcing support (source identification/qualification) while leveraging of existing source base. Work with planners to fill the supply chain pipe line for initial production build of NPI. Standard cost & PPV: Work with cost accounting to refine or update standard cost for purchased materials. Work with cost accounting to track true PPV through system. Supplier development & performance review: Evaluate and assure suppliers’ compliance with agreements and performance targets for pricing, quality and service. Formalize supplier review-growth plan and create supplier rating system. Quality Standards: Understand, follow and support AMF’s Quality System policies, procedures and work instructions. Develop/ maintain & improve policies & procedures related to purchasing & source management.
